System requirements
Windows Live products have different system requirements depending on the product and your operating system. To see a full list of Windows Live system requirements, go to the Windows Live System Requirements website.

If you have Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) or earlier installed on your computer
To install and use Windows Live Essentials you must upgrade to the latest version of Windows XP. Learn more about upgrading to the latest version of Windows XP.

To find out which version of Windows XP is running on your computer, do the following:

Click the Start button, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
The version of Windows XP you are running is displayed under System.

To install or uninstall Windows Live programs, you must have administrator (The person who manages a computer and has permissions to make changes to the computer, including installing programs, accessing files, and managing user accounts.) rights on the computer.
